Altec 1606 questions

The 1606 is a mixer/amplifier with a 50W output.

A transformer must be used on each input of the 1606. A 1588B is used for microphone inputs. Generally the 15335A transformer is used for a line input. The 15335A will present a 15k input impedance to your source. The 15095A will present a 600 ohm impedance and add about 14dB of gain. The 15095A is often used at the end of very long lines. The 15356 is an output transformer for the output of a line level device (example: 1653A eq).

The 50W output is not a good choice for driving a line level device because of distortion and noise floor. It may be possible to use the internal RCA connection for a line level output. I would run it through a 15356A transformer.

The 1612 is a mono device. You will need one for left and one for right.
